Among the Sherpa do Mar partners are represented the main entities in the field of research, knowledge transfer, innovation promotion and business competitiveness of the Galicia-North of Portugal Euroregion. The cooperation between these entities will allow the consolidation of a high-level cross-border network in support of companies and entrepreneurs in the marine-maritime field.

    Main beneficiary of the project. Through the R&D office, the University of Vigo works to promote the creation of spin-offs based on university research as a means of transfer to society.

    Research group in energy, innovation and environment

    REDE, coordinator of Sherpa do Mar, is a research group of the University of Vigo, recognized reference group in the Galician research system, made up of more than 30 researchers and 5 transfer managers. His research agenda focuses on two main fields and their intersections: the management of innovation and operational excellence, on the one hand, and the energy and environmental economy, on the other.

    CZFV has experience in promoting infrastructures and services based on knowledge management and transfer. It highlights the promotion and management of seven business parks, the promotion of the business accelerator ViaGalicia, financial support through the SCR VigoActivo aimed at the growth of companies, participation in technology centers such as CITEXVI and CTAG and the promotion of international trade to through InvestinVigo.

    The Valorization, Transfer and Entrepreneurship Area of the USC has workers specialized in offering services to technology companies: identification of transferable research results, evaluation of their potential, protection of results and patents, negotiation and monitoring of transfer contracts, support and advice for the creation of companies and startups as well as the promotion of entrepreneurship.

    The OTRI of the UDC has experience in all the phases of creation of technology-based companies (TBCs) that have arisen in the university environment. It has a specific Unit for the creation of TBCs and a Business Incubator that advises promoters of business initiatives and accompanies them in the early stages of entrepreneurship.

    Associação de Transferência de Tecnologia da Asprela

    UPtec supports the creation of technology-based business projects and hosts innovation centers of national and international companies. Since 2007 it has supported the development of more than 300 projects and the creation of 1,800 qualified jobs. The organization by poles (Technology, Creative Industries, Biotechnology and the Sea) is based on a cluster strategy and distribution of resources between UPorto, startups and innovation centers that guarantees specific technical support to entrepreneurs.

    The Axencia Galega de Innovación (GAIN) is the entity in charge of structuring innovation policies in its area of influence and supporting and promoting the growth of the competitiveness of Galician innovative companies. It is the official body on the European smart specialization platform, EEN contact point and member of the ERRIN network.
