COMPANIES IN THE MARINE-MARITIME SECTOR WILL BE ABLE TO REQUEST A PERSONALIZED INNOVATION BENCHMARKING REPORT THROUGH SHERPA DO MAR UNTIL FEBRUARY 19th

It will allow them to know their competitive position in this area, their improvement potential and innovation needs based on updated 2020 data from Galicia and North Portugal

SMEs and micro-SMEs of the Galicia - North of Portugal Euroregion, whose activity is linked to the marine-maritime field, may request a personalized benchmarking diagnosis through the Sherpa do Mar website until February 19.

To access this free service and find out their competitive position with respect to other organizations in the sector at a cross-border level, their potential for improvement and their capacities and needs in terms of innovation, entities must previously carry out an online R&D survey.

The results of the measurement of its innovative performance will be provided to each company on an individual basis, taking as reference data from the marine-maritime field corresponding to 2020. Likewise, all will be provided with information on available public aid.

This personalized diagnosis is based on the multisectoral report Innobench, developed by the Consortium of the Vigo Free Zone, the Galician Innovation Agency and the REDE group of the University of Vigo, and aims to promote innovation in the blue economy of the Euroregion .

20 priority entities

The participating firms will also enter a selection process in which Sherpa do Mar will choose twenty on a priority basis, based on their degree of connection with the marine-maritime sector, their years of activity and their size.

The chosen companies will have access to a personalized roadmap to improve innovation capacities, as well as a monitoring service until February 2022.

About Sherpa do Mar

Sherpa do Mar is a project integrated into the INTERREG VA Spain-Portugal Cross-Border Cooperation Program (POCTEP) 2014-2020, co-financed 75% by ERDF funds, whose purpose is to launch a cross-border network of entrepreneurship in the marine-maritime field and the blue economy, which favors the generation of employment and the increase of business competitiveness through the promotion of technology-based companies.

Led by the REDE group of the University of Vigo, it has the participation of Campus do Mar and the Vice-Rector's Office for Research of the University of Vigo, the Vigo Free Zone Consortium, the Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN) and the universities of Santiago and A Coruña. On the part of Portugal, the Asprela Technology Transfer Association (UPTEC), the University of Porto, the Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR, by its acronym in Portuguese) and the Forum Oceano-Associação da Economia do Mar participate.
